Interesting. The VIX is down and the market is down. Last week I noticed the VIX was up and the market was up, and soon after, this rally happened. I wonder if it works both ways.

No, markets drive the news. The media makes two versions of every story. When the market is up they publish the bullish, when down they publish the bearish. There goal is not to inform you, it is to build a client base and sell their product. When the market is up, then they publish what most want to hear so they will subscribe to their news feed. If earnings are good, but market goes down they will publish the story of bad forward guidance. If earnings are good and market goes up, they will publish the story about the earnings beat from last quarter.

Usa and China Talks concluded! Fed minutes says it will wait many months untill new interests raises. The shutdown WILL end sometime, soooner than many expects! S&P may go to 3k!
