If you think farmers will switch to soybeans than take preventive planting on the fields that were going to be corn. Most wont, more profitable to take preventive planting, than plant late soybeans with low yields and ***price.

Depend on if the ground is rented cash or split. Also if there were soybeans planted on the field last year, soybeans on soybeans hurts the yield more. We tried it couple years ago wasnt great

By the way, by my statement I meant that provided fundamentals prices have little chance of strenghtening much further due to the weaker BRL, high stocks, swine flu, trade wars, so a good scenario for some cash flow

Why don't farmers stop growing GMO soybeans if prices are so low & switch to real vegetables like peas, beans, okra, tomatoes, peppers? Could it be because none of those are subsidized? And when is the last time you saw a row crop farmer with his own personal garden? Farming ain't what it used to be

just remember the  soy tariff  is only with china all other countries are free to buy soybeans , meal and oil at heavily discounted prices, and re-sell them to china, this occurred during the great grain embargo imposed on russia, by executive order issued by then democrat president Carter
