Saudia and russia already cut the production of oil to get higher price , the attacked facility produce only 5% of global oil , its not crisis since saudia can cover the production with other facilities, price may go up but this is not a global crisis its only a small problem for aramco

Its going to be interesting to see how the public reacts. Most dont do research so shorts cover assuming market sentiment will go bullish short term.

some said US and Europe could release SPR or emergency oil storages to fill the oil shortage gap. but these SPR are still oil storage. Once oil storage reduced, the price would go up. other few things may be in the cards: 1. Saudi may take retaliation action against Iran. 2. US Iran negotiation of removing sanctions may halt. 3. attack from Yemen may continue. all these result in higher oil price.

Saudi miscalculated US oil power. Us and CANADA have 100 years of oil reserves. US have 350 million in reserves, plus now US might increase capacity from 12+ to 14+ million barrels a day. Byproduct comes lot of nat gas and this is for sure going under 2 nest year and for short period , it will go to 2.4 atleast and then bounce depending on how cold the winter will be

Don’t panic yet Spare capacity is the extra oil a producing country can bring onstream and sustain at short notice, providing global markets with a cushion in the event of natural disaster, conflict or any other cause of an unplanned supply outage. Industry sources have said Saudi Arabia will be able to restore supply within days. A prolonged supply outage will have a major bullish impact on oil prices, which in turn will spur further gains in U.S. shale production.

hello hello, spare capacity online on short notice" you must be kidding yourself. It take years and billions to build a refinery, if anyone saw the footage it will probable take a lot longer to rebuild what is destroyed. US can release oil from SPR but gasoline refinery capacity will be severely impacted for a long time. Asian refinery margins will be huge.

Saudi Arabia shut down half its oil production Saturday after a series of drone strikes hit the world's largest oil processing facility in an attack claimed by Yemen's Houthi rebels. The closure will impact almost 5.7 million barrels of crude production a day, about 5% of the world's daily oil production, according to Saudi Aramco.Saudi Energy Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman said the attacks also led to a halt in gas production that will reduce the supply of ethane and natural gas liquids by 50%.

"This is a big deal," said Andrew Lipow, president of Lipow Oil Associates. "Fearing the worst, I expect that the market will open up $5 to $10 per barrel on Sunday evening. This is 12 to 25 cents per gallon for gasoline." Lipow noted over four million barrels per day of Saudi oil exports go to Asia, while the U.S. imports about 600,000 barrels. The biggest importers in Asia are China at 1.3 million barrels and Japan at 1.2 million barrels.

Regardless of the true impact of oil on natural gas production, Monday should be Green for energy commodities. More like a panic move. I’m expecting a gap up on Monday... and a big one.

because of explosion, oil supply diminished, so more NG will be used, thereby reducing supply of NG and increasing price.
